The Schloder ESD Simulator (aka ESD Gun) is a reliable and cost effective solution for simulating  electrostatic discharge as defined in the standard IEC 61000-4-2.

The 16.5 KV ESD Simulator  is light weight and sits comfortably in the operator's hand while providing and easy to read display.  Engineers have the option of programming automatic test runs or setting pre-difines test levels  according to the required standard.

The ESD Gun SESD 216 simulates electrostatic discharge as defined in the standard IEC / EN 61000-4-2.  Higher Two set ups are available:

1.Air Discharge

The pulse is triggered by approaching the Schloder SESD 216 towards the DUT. The high voltage applied to the discharge electrode is discharged suddenly, resulting in a very broadband high-frequency interference spectrum. This can lead to influences on the test samples.

2. Contact Discharge

In this scenerio, the probe of the generator is placed directly on the device under test (DUT) . The actual "impulse triggering" takes place via a relay contact and reduces the influencing factors such as approach speed, amplitude height, air humidity and temperature.
It's important to note that in the case of non-contacting (eg painted or oxidized surface)  the impulses are not triggered. The display shows "No contact". This ensures  that a discharge actually takes place when triggering.

3. No need to change the batteries

The simulator works on battery power. If the battery is empty, it can be charged immediately with the charger included in the scope of delivery. Charging bars in the display indicate the charging status.

4. Optional Control Software Available:

The program ESD-SOFT allows to operate the Schlöder ESD simulators via a interface. The program, which runs under Microsoft® Windows©, controls the ESD generators via a light wave interface cable. All parameters, which can also be operated directly on the ESD simulator, can be set. In addition, there is the possibility to define ramp functions and devicespecific test sequences. With the help of the sequence control, several individual programs can be lined up and thus complex test sequences can be created. Furthermore, with its "ESD READ ONLY" function, the software allows you to log your manually performed ESD tests
